Will Cofield, Director of Missions

Will Cofield is a relational pastor and strategic leader with eighteen years of experience in church revitalization, pastoral coaching, and disciple-making. He has a proven track record in helping plateaued and declining churches regain health through Biblical preaching, intentional discipleship, and visionary leadership. He is passionate about equipping pastors and strengthening churches to fulfill the Great Commission through revitalization, replanting, and multiplication.

Will converted to Christ on July 15, 2001, after years of church involvement without a personal relationship with Jesus. Soon after, God confirmed His call to ministry. Over the past two decades, he has served faithfully in pastoral and associational leadership, equipping others to know, follow, and serve Christ through revitalized, reproducing churches.

Joel Thrasher, GBA Strategist

Joel was born and raised in the Northwestern corner of Georgia. He met his wife, Kathy, in college, and they were married in 1982. Their daughter, Brittney, came along in 1986. But their greatest delight is their two granddaughters.  Joel holds degrees from Jacksonville State University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Joel’s journey to faith began while in college with an invitation to join friends attending the Baptist Campus Ministry. He surrendered to God’s call to missions during his senior year of college. He has faithfully served the GBA for 30+ years, responsible for Mission Partnerships, Church Planting, Crisis Centers, Disaster Relief, Demographics, and Prison Ministry.  His leadership has been invaluable as he most recently stepped into the role of Interim Director of Missions.

Marty, GBA Strategist

Marty trusted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of 9 while attending VBS and was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia, a few weeks later. During his 7th-grade year at Youth Camp, God called him into ministry. That calling evolved into preaching and ultimately led to a call for international service in church missions. Throughout all those years, the constant has been “I preach Christ, and Him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 1)

Marty has worked in several ministries and secular positions, providing invaluable experience to further the GBA’s mission to create access to the gospel for all – starting here. He is uniquely gifted to further this mission as our GBA Strategist.  Marty, his wife Karen, and their family are an invaluable part of the GBA team.

Anna Richardson, Administrative Assistant

Anna grew up an Air Force brat, moving all over the United States every few years following her father’s career. Home is now South Carolina, as I have spent over half my life living here. She married Condy Richardson in 1996, and they have three children with ages spanning from high school to medical school. Anna earned a Computer Information Systems degree from the University of South Carolina and spent her early career as a programmer.

Anna became a believer at the age of 6 during a revival service held at Calvary Baptist Church in Loring, Maine. Having attended church 9 months before her birth, she is extremely blessed to have grown up in a Christian home.  As Philippians 1:6 promises, God continues to work in her life – shaping Anna into the person He wants her to become.
