Blue in the Zoo began several years ago as a way to say thank you to local first responders and their families with a fun, free evening at the Greenville Zoo. The churches of the Greenville Baptist Association sponsor this annual event as a way of showing appreciation for those who serve and protect our communities.
Several activity stations will be hosted inside the zoo by GBA churches, which include a scavenger hunt, games, photo booth, and music. Chick-fil-A sandwiches, chips, and water bottles will be available free of charge. The zoo’s concession stand and store will be open for purchases as well. Great door prizes will be awarded at the end of the event.
How can my church participate in Blue in the Zoo 2025?
- Donate door prizes. We have a list of specific door prizes we will be giving to our first responders and their families. If you are interested in donating towards these prizes, contact us!
- Sponsor an activity station. Our guests interact with our churches through activity stations placed throughout the zoo. If you are interested in sponsoring one, contact us!
- Pray for Blue in the Zoo. Pray for the first responders and their families that will attend. Pray for good conversations among our guests and volunteers. Pray for good weather.
How can first responders register for Blue in the Zoo 2025?
- Emails will be sent to agencies and precincts. First responders should ask for the QR code or link sent through this email in order to register their families. If the email has not been received by their agency, please contact us to get the registration link.
- A confirmation email will be sent to registrants. Present this confirmation email at the entrance gate for free admittance to this event. If the first responder is unable to attend, forward the confirmation email to an adult in your registration party. First responders that do not pre-register will be able to show their badge at the entrance gate in order to gain admittance.
Inclement Weather Notice:
Blue in the Zoo 2025 is ON – rain or shine. However, the Greenville Zoo must cancel events if lightning strikes within a 2-mile radius of the zoo in compliance with their safety policy. If this happens, we will post to our Facebook page and will attempt to reschedule at a later date. We will be making a “game time” decision on May 3 if the weather is not cooperating. Pray for good weather!
