Our Director of Missions Search Committee has been prayerfully seeking the next leader for our Association. They believe God has led them to the right candidate and wish to present him for consideration.
An official notification letter from GBA 2026 Moderator, Mike Runion, will be delivered to your church address by the US Postal Service. This announcement serves as another form of notification to fulfill our bylaws as directed below.
The GBA Bylaws dictate that a Director of Missions must be voted on at either an Annual Meeting or a Special-Called Meeting. Therefore, a Special-Called Meeting of the Greenville Baptist Association is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at City View First Baptist Church. The only item of business will be the presentation of and the vote for a prospective Director of Missions. This meeting will take the place of our regularly scheduled January Executive Committee Meeting. Please plan to stay for a catered lunch following this Special-Called Meeting.
Additional information regarding the candidate, as well as Messenger registration, will be provided in a follow-up email in the near future. The GBA Bylaws specify how many voting Messengers each church is allowed. This number will be determined by the information received on your 2025 Annual Church Profile. If you have any questions, please contact the GBA Office at (864) 242-4330.
A Meet & Greet Drop-In is scheduled on Friday, January 9, from 10:00 -11:30 a.m. at the GBA Office (4100 East North Street, Greenville, SC 29615). If you would like the opportunity to meet the prospective DOM candidate before the Special-Called Meeting, please take advantage of this event.
